Back away from the window in case he sees you

You jump back from the window and hide behind the curtain so he does see you .

You take deep breaths and you composed yourself for a minute.

You peek your head round from the curtain and look back out the window again, he is gone. You scan out the window and see him. He is on the other side of the bushes that separate you and your neighbours house his trimming the huge hedge and it is blocking your view of him

You think that you will a better view of him if you go upstairs and look out from the window at the top of the stairs
