Ask her more about her self.

From Create Your Own Story

"Tell me more about you, Claire." You say through the door. "Just something to keep my mind off things while we wait."

"What do you want to know?" She asks from outside as she slumps down with her back against the door.

"Anything. Likes, dislikes, favorite food, color, whatever."

"Sounds like boring details," she says softly. "How about I tell you what life was like before I came here?" You agree, and Claire gives you a long and winding story of her childhood, fascinating at points, boring at others. She speaks of her childhood home, her parents, her dreams, the autumn leaves in Oregon, and journey into high school, where she started rebelling against her parents. It's not a groundbreaking story, and it's pretty run-of-the-mill as far as the people you've met, but you recognize enough to connect the two of you, and you feel far less than strangers when she's finished.

"And the guy?" You ask, looking down at your arms to see that not a single boil or sore has formed. "How'd that happen?"

"The guy you clobbered with the fire extinguisher?" She sighs. "We weren't very serious, if I'm being honest. He was moving a little fast and I really just wanted to sort myself out. I was trying to explain that to him when he started acting strange. Started saying things, coming at me." She sighs again. "He wasn't a bad guy, just not what I wanted."

"So what do you want?"

"Now?" She asks. "Now I just want to make it through this alive. All my internal dialogue has gone out the window. I'm not worried about anything but today. Tonight. Whatever."

"Same here," you say, standing up slowly to look into the little mirror on the wall. You're clean. "I think I'm alright." You say.

"Then come out of there," she says. "I told you it was silly."
