You finally give in and admit the truth to the police officer. After telling him the whole story, he sits back in the chairs and simply raises his eyebrows in shock.
Some time later, he says, "I'm goin' to have to jail you for assault then, and maybe even manslaughter if he don't make it out of the hospital."
