You can't take the chance of being turned back over to your demon master, or even that the owner of the cabin might keep you for his own perverted use. You turn and head back into the forest, you hands and feet growing numb, your legs heavy. It's so dark, you don't see the edge of the ravine until it's too late. You plunge over the edge, sliding and rolling down the steep, muddy embankment until you land with a splat at the muddy edge of a small creek.
Your whole body aches as you struggle to get up and you ankle is filled with a sharp, nauseating pain when you try to stand on it. You manage to drag yourself out of the wet mud and over to a dryer, rockier place, but there's no way you can climb back up the ravine. You're not even sure you can walk along the bottom. As you sit, shivering so hard your bones hurt, you realize you're in a very dangerous situation.
