Take the middle-aged guard hostage

You put the middle-aged guard in front of you as a human shield, pressing your pistol against his temple.
"Don't shoot!" you warn. "Get out of our way!"
Without hesitation, one of the guards takes aim with his musket and shoots your hostage in the head. He collapses at your feet.
Well, crap... Didn't see that coming, did you?
