You pull on a shirt and a pair of blue jeans and head downstairs when the smell of burning hits your nose. You race to the kitchen to find your housemate Lily burning toaster waffles for the ninth time that month. The fox grins when she sees you and squeezes you in a big hug.
"Sorry I burnt breakfast again, the stupid toaster hates me."
"Maybe it's cos you haven't set the timer, AGAIN."
You both laugh. Lily is a history student at your university. Although she's bi, she tries not to make your friendship awkward but doesn't mind if you ask about her sex life. You once had a drunk night with her that you both pretend didn't happen but other than that you're both just close friends.
"Here you go," Lily says and puts down a burnt waffle.
"Thanks," you say as she takes a seat opposite you.
