Tornado Strike by James Swider
You live in rural Nebraska about five miles north of North Platte. It is July, and Nebraska has been in the middle of the worst heat wave in twenty-five years. Today you toiled in the fields, fertilizing your wheat crop. You work hard, but you’re proud to call yourself a farmer, unlike those lazy folks in the cities who don’t even know where there food comes from. Now it’s four P.M. , and you stretch your legs on the sofa with a well deserved ice tea. You’re belly laughing at Red Skelton when suddenly the television switches to a black screen and beeps loudly.
