Your Queer Weekend Adventure/Check last message

From Create Your Own Story

"Hi, I'm going to be five mins late. See you there" you read.

It confuses you for a second. Who'll meet you where? The sender is just listed as an unknown number. It must be a wrong number so you decide to ignore it.

You put the phone back down as the other messages can wait till later. You go back upstairs and decide to jump in the shower. As you start to soap yourself up you can't help but think about that message again. Mysterious phone messages are not what you usually think about while rubbing your hands over your naked body but for some reason it seems important but ... you can't quite place why.

And that's when it comes back to you in a flash. John, one of your oldest friends, is meeting you for a birthday drink this lunchtime. You don't recognise the number because his old phone, that he'd had for years, finally died. But he'd surprised everyone by replacing it with a brand new smart phone. And it had come with a brand new phone number. Quickly you wash all the soap off your body and leap out of the shower. Grabbing a towel you roughly dry yourself as fast as you can.

It's become a tradition for the two of you to go get a drink together on each others birthdays. Usually you would meet up in the evening but this year you agreed to meet for an early drink as it was a Saturday and John was working tonight. Neither of you has missed one for ... you think for a second, almost six years. And then John only couldn't make it as he had broke his leg and was still in hospital waiting for the x-rays to show up. You can't miss this for anything.

After wrapping the towel around your waist you go back into your bedroom to get ready. But first you need to know how much time you have you have before you have to leave. As you spin the alarm clock around you hope that somehow you've made a mistake and it's not as late as you think it is.

DAMN IT!

It's not as late as you think it is, it's even later than that. You've got to get dressed, get into town and get to the pub within fifteen minutes. But John did say he was running late himself, maybe if you text him back you can arrange to meet a little later.
