Tell him to take only the watch

"Come on," you plead. "The watch is worth a lot more than the boots. Just take the watch. That should be good enough."
"I'm the one in the position to decide what's good enough," says the doctor arrogantly. "And my decision is that it's the watch AND the boots, or no deal."
You're not going to give up the data drive. That would be incredibly stupid. And there's no chance to remove the drive from the boots. The doctor's not going to let you out of his sight.
"Fine then. No deal." You put the watch back on your slim wrist and cross your slender but muscular arms in front of you.
"I'll be informing the authorities then," says the doctor. He presses a red button on the wall. A few moments later, several soldiers arrive. They search you and confiscate your Walther PPK. You explain as calmly as you can that you're a woman traveling alone in a war zone and you need protection. You're not sure if they buy it.
You are taken to a police station and locked in an interrogation room. A few minutes later, two Syrian military police officers, guns and swords hanging from their belts, enter.
The smaller of the two officers does the talking. He asks you your name, your occupation, and your place of residence. You give your rehearsed answers to those questions. Meanwhile, the bigger man has just been standing there staring at you icily the whole time.
The smaller man then asks, "What is your religion?"
