A shooting took place at a local church, resulting in the deaths of six people.
"We've never seen anything like this," said forensics officer Samuel Rochester.
Among the dead were 39-year-old mother of two Jessica Jones and senior priest Father Hrunting, age 72.
"Jones?" Kerri murmurs. "Oh God..."
The body of an unidentified woman was found in the hallway of the church, holding a .44 caliber handgun and wearing a Kevlar vest. Police believe she may have been responsible for the massacre.
"The gun matches with the bullets we've found," comments Detective Lieutenant Kenneth Saxon. "However, her face was obliterated by something else entirely. It looks like she was hit by a giant arrow."
He added the woman may have had an accomplice who turned on her, but that does not explain why her trauma differs from the rest of the victims.
"It's just an all-around baffling case," Lt. Saxon informed us. "It's baffling why someone would shoot up a church in the first place."
Services will be held for the victims this coming Sunday.
You look over the article and read the names of those who died, but see no mention of Angela. You still don't know who that woman was or why she had an interest in Kerri's friend.
"What happened to her?" Kerri worriedly inquires. "I hope she made it out okay."
"We were all in the basement when we heard the gunshots," you reason. "And that woman was helping us escape. I doubt she did anything to Angela."
Kerri nods in agreement, but you can tell she's still concerned.
