Search for a way up to the balcony yourself

You exit the ballroom and look down the hall. You see a few doors along the hallway. Any one of these could lead to a staircase. You take the last door on the right and walk into a hallway. Nobody is in here, just you and your shadow. Relaxing a bit, you stroll down the hallways. To your left are windows that overlook the front yard. You place yourself near the front of the house, with the ballroom, your destination, near the back.
Turning the corner, you are greeted by a staircase leading up to the second story. How lucky, you’ve found it. You lightly climb up the staircase and look down the hallway that it empties out at. To your right is a door that you believe leads to the ballroom balcony. To our left, the hallway continues. You hear a woman lightly humming to herself from down the hallway.
