Royal Palace Guard

The elite units that guard the Emperor's own Palace. Now here to protect you as well for the duration of the competition, or at least that's what they are supposed to do. The guards are heavily elitist who all hail from high ranking families and establishments, they are especially prejudiced towards "outsiders" and foreigners. Due to this, they have a mutually hateful dynamic with the Thyreon Imperial Navy. On the other hand, they have a rather amicable relationship with the Aristocracy of the 1st Branch, where a substantial portion of their numbers come from. Their relations with the other aristocratic branches are not poor either, but they lack the real substance that it has with the first.
It will be impossible to earn their favor as anyone not of aristocratic birth or other similarly high positions. If you are however, they will treat you as any good guest of the Palace.
To earn their favor, you will likely need to play to their interests and treat them cordially.
Earning their goodwill may allow you to use them to spy on other contestants, look out for specifically (personal physical safety), or even "incapacitate" another person for a bit. It is not even unlikely to become closer with the aristocracy as a result of this favor, the guard's preferences are not held lowly to many of the nobles. Perhaps you may even reach the Emperor's ear, the Guard Captain is quite close to him after all...
At any given time there are around ten dozen guards stationed around the expanse of the Palace. The nearby guard post can swell numbers up to five hundred however, in case of an emergency or necessary event.
