"I'll take it!" you say, holding out a hand eagerly. He looks at you for a moment longer, his stare making you feel rather awkward, then slowly he hands you the pokeball.
"Now you have to promise me that you take very good care of this Pokemon," he says with a slight amount of worry in his voice.
"Oh I will!" you exclaim, holding the ball closely to your chest and looking down at it lovingly.
"Good," he replies, his hand landing on your shoulder in a congratulations pat. After a few moments you realize you've been standing there cradling the ball to your chest a bit longer than you would have liked.
