You crash land somewhere in Valles Marineris, in the former Dictatorship of Anthals. Former, because the state has very recently become the victim of an anarchistic revolution. The secret police has disbanded and the former tyrannical leaders have fled the planet. Riots are in place, grenades and fire bombs blot out the sun. Going outside is massively dangerous if you get labelled as a supporter of the former government.
