You throw the car in park. You don't have a lot of time but you're not going to jump to conclusions. You step out into the rain, and start demanding an explanation.
You don't get one. The crazed man with the diseased face runs at you, knocking you to the ground with his shoulder. You couldn't see it in the dark, but in his hand there's a nasty looking piece of broken glass. You put up your hands to shield yourself, and he cuts them to ribbons before stabbing you in the throat. Then he just keeps stabbing you, over and over and over.
The woman you saved finally steps in, swinging a tire iron and hitting the man across the back of the head and knocking him over. She tries to speak to you, but you can't hear her over the rain. You weakly point to the car, and the woman checks in it through the window.
Finally, she returns to you and looks you over. She leans down by your ear and speaks loudly enough for you to hear.
"You won't make it to the hospital, but I think I can save her. Do you want me to leave you?"
