Within moments you're running down the path of the small white house. The door is open. You step in warily, gun drawn. There's a sinister silence that you don't like. The door leads into a wide passage with several doors opening into it. One of these is open. You creep towards it, gun out in front of you. You toe the door open. There's a man in a nice suit lying on the carpet. The stain spreading out underneath him tells he's not going to be getting up any time soon.
There's a movement behind you. You have no time to turn as something strikes you on the back of the head and you topple over, the world going black as the carpet comes up to greet you.
You wake up eventually. You get up too quickly and then wish you hadn't. There's a bump on the back of your head about the size of a golf ball. You stand up and look around you. The body is still there. So is the blood.
There's something strange, though you can't quite figure out what it is. Then you realize the gun you are holding isn't yours. In place of your Luger is a large .44 Magnum. It's been fired recently.
