"Get me the Omni Electro-Zapper!" you call to your AI.
<System: Selection confirmed. OEZ transponder detected. Activating recalll device. > In a flash, the weapon is now attached to the top of your robot's wrist. It looks, essentially, like a giant two-pronged plug with the prongs being longer, and far more pointy than you'd normally see in a plug. You jam the controls forward and kick your robot into a sprint toward your enemy. As you rush forward, you can see your opponent prepare his own melee weapons as the short metal blades on his arms suddenly shoot down and extend by several feet. He liesurely walks toward you, letting you be the one who closes the distance. Unfortunately for him, your plug wasn't just for show and did have a practical reason for looking like one. Since you were the one who invented this device, he has no idea what you're about to do. You skid to an abrupt halt as you reach him, narrowly avoiding one of his blades as he swings it at you. You step in to try jamming the prongs of your zapper into his chest but he jets back and just out of reach with his maneuvering thrusters. Thrusters which he uses again to throw himself forward with one of his blades outstretched toward you. You don't have time to avoid it and it rips into your shield, piercing through and just narrowly missing entering the chest of your machine where your cockpit is. You grab his arm and wrench it away from you, throwing the arm off to the side which causes his robot to momentarily lose its' balance and giving you an opening! "I hope you've located a major power junction. Do it!" you call to your AI, allowing it to take control of your machine for a moment. It promptly moves you forward, and jams the spiked prongs into the vulerable side of your opponent's robot. The sound of tearing metal is brief, but the crackles of electricity that surge out from your opponent's ruptured power junction which are in-turn absorbed by your zapper are prolonged, and utterly delightful. <System: Energy reserves increasing. 30%... 35%... 40%... > Your opponent doesn't let this go on long, and reaches down to grab hold of your zapper. His robot's fist closes around it and crumbles the metal until the zapper breaks, shorts out, and vanishes in a flash. <System: Enemy condition degraded to critical. > "Maneuvering jets, get us back, now!" you call. Small panels open up on the front of your machine and scorch the front of your opponent's machine as you are pushed back a few feet. Your opponent stumbles back. You can see his shield flickering, sparks flying from the wound from the zapper, he is on his last legs. Time to finish him! <System: Attention. Offensive transponder signals are active again. However I am not recieving any energy consumption figures from any device. Excercise caution with your selection. > <System: Shields down to 20%. Energy reserves up to 45%. > You can think of two ways to finish him, either with something fancy or just getting up close and personal and shredding him. | ||||
