You decide to keep walking. It's unsafe to follow a path unless you know where it leads, right? At least that was what they taught you when you were younger. You continue to trudge through the tall, dewy grass, with the crescent moon shining brightly above.
Then, something catches your eye. You see a flash of bloodred, which disappeared in an instant. You don't know where it's going, but you think it's headed for a nearby cave, since it's the only real shelter in the forest. It might lead to something good, and besides, what do you have to lose?
