You land straight into the solid concrete as the bus speeds past, and you land hard. You must've crippled your poor host pretty badly, if not already evidenced by the small debris clinging to your skin and perhaps even a few broken bones.
You must be in some other part of the neighborhood, although you can't quite tell with your face buried in the ground. The bus should be coming back for you any second now.
