You walk across the yard to head towards the entrance to the house party. Already the partiers have trashed the frontyard and “TPed” the neighboring trees. Without even going inside, it screams “wild party.”
Heidi stops halfway between the sidewalk and the house. “I don’t think I want to go anymore,” she says, holding you tightly in her arms. “Uh, I have to finish my book.”
Her reluctance is forgivable and you can see why. These types of people are probably too much for her, especially if you’re the only one here she knows. On the other hand, you feel that she might be missing out on the best party of the year.
