Evasive maneuvers; roll to port!

You wrestle the stick to port, and your ship spins, the laser fire flying past you on your right. You grit your teeth, glancing at your scope; you're surging ahead, but the pirate has pulled down onto your tail.

"This is Hunter One, I'm in trouble here," you call. You wrestle the stick back and forth, juking from side to side as the pirate's lasers blast past you. You're good, but the pirate has you in a bad spot.

"One, this is Two," comes Slice's voice. "I'm coming for you. Just hold on a few more seconds."

You smile. You can always count on Slice to pull your ass out of the fire. You glance at the scope, noting the distance between Hunter Two and your ship. Just a few more seconds...

And then Hunter Two winks out on the scope.

"Hunter Two, come in," you call. But there's no reply. As you try to spin away from another blast, the lasers clip your starboard wing, blasting right through it. Your whole ship shudders with the impact, and you find yourself going into an uncontrolled roll. You can't maneuver. A moment later, the laser lock flashes on, and the pirate pumps your engines full of laser. Your fuel stores ignite in a blast of plasma; both you and your ship are vaporized in a huge ball of fire.
