Enter the side passage with the ancient Inca carvings

You and Monica enter the small side passage. It doesn't stay small for long, however. After a few twists and turns, it opens up into a massive cavern, with stone columns holding up the ceiling. There doesn't seem to be any other way out.
"This must have been a sacred place to the ancient Inca," murmurs Monica as she looks at the vast extent of the carvings on the walls and stone columns. "If only I could..."
You are both startled by a noise behind you. Whirling, you see the demon! The monster smirks. "And what have we here? Looks like two rats trapped in a cage."
With lightning speed, Monica fires an explosive bolt from her crossbow at the demon. There is a massive explosion of gray dust. When the smoke clears, however, it reveals the demon still standing there, unhurt.
"None of your puny human weapons can harm me," he smirks. His mutilated hand glows red as he aims it at Monica.
With a shrill scream, you open fire on the demon with your pistol, hurling your sword at the monster with your other hand. The bullets simply bounce off its superhumanly muscled body and the sword shatters into pieces upon contact. The distraction is enough, however. Monica swiftly loads another bolt into her crossbow and fires into the ceiling of the small passage, collapsing it underneath thousands of tons of stone and trapping the demon...and you and her...inside the cavern.
The demon screams in rage upon seeing what has happened, then turns its rage on the two of you. "You've gained nothing! You're trapped in here too!"
You shrug. "We were dead anyway. We haven't lost anything. And humanity has gained time to figure out how to deal with you."
"You will lose your souls to me!" shrieks the demon. The red glow appears from its hands again. You and Monica look at one another and nod. You quickly shoot her in the head, then shoot yourself, robbing the demon of the chance to steal your life essences.
Perhaps your heroic sacrifices will trap the demon long enough for humanity to find a way to slay it. But for you, you have reached
