You go towards the direction Kirsten told you the lake is supposed to be situated. After five minutes of walking, the wood opens into a large clearing. You notice that the ground beneath your shoes suddenly gets soggy. Further on, you can see puddles and patches of tall grass, and the air suddenly feels a bit damp. How can it be that in the midst of this burning hot summer the humidity is so high, not to mention all the water in the ground? A quick internet search on your mobile solves the riddle - apparently, there is an underground river that sporadically reaches the surface in this region, the same river that feeds the lake.
The lake surely must be straight ahead, behind the clearing. Upon closer inspection, you also see a small trail to your left, edging the clearing. You assume the trail leads to the lake, albeit it will probably take you longer to get there.
