You are a bit disappointed that your children don't want to spend time with you. It is not the end of the world, though; it is the first day away from home where you all see each other all the time. As far as Cate is regarded, you will have plenty of time to catch up.
You didn't make any plans to be as flexible as you could. You think about spending some time on deck - you are on a cruise after all - but instead, you decide to find out what the ship has to offer besides the ocean. If you suggest an activity yourself next time instead of trying to tag along, you'll have a better chance to spend time with your kids.
During the next two hours, you orientate yourself about the various areas of the ship. There are several event areas on the ship so that there would be something for everybody's taste. Tomorrow's event in the main arena is a costume party, and the ship provides a costume rental. Besides the wellness area there are several indoor pools, shops, restaurants and many more activities to ensure no passenger is in danger of becoming even slightly bored. The offers are overwhelming.
The various shops range from jewelers and classy boutiques down to tourist's gift shops selling cheap souvenirs. While you browse a rack with sun glasses, Kirsten and Debra enter the shop. They don't notice you, move towards the back of the shop, and stick their heads together. You know your daughters, you can tell just by the look of them that they are up to something.
