The tone in your mother's voice convinces you not to admit that you peeped at all. Instead, you hastily invent a terrible misunderstanding that began when you wanted to adjust your socks. You keep it as simple as you can, but it sounds more than lame, and although you half-jokingly point out that you aren't guilty until proven otherwise - meaning that you shouldn't be punished for a mistake Kirsten made for falsely accusing you - you can see that Julianne doesn't believe you. It would be hurtful if she weren't right.
You finally manage to escape her cross examination by claiming your injury hurts. Julianne lets you off the hook for now, and you fall asleep quickly. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.
