D&D: It came from in front of you.

From Create Your Own Story

Your careful gaze spots a cloaked figure cradling a crossbow, slowly and carefully checking the cover as they spiral inward making their way to the pool.

Out of habit you wrapped your backpack and clothes in your cloak and slipped the into the roots of a tree near the edge of the pool, they are unlikely to find your gear.

You are pretty sure they have not spotted you yet, but they will soon, and they will definitely spot you as soon as you start to get out of the pool!

Your options narrow to encountering someone naked, or find a hiding spot in a small pool of clear water with a large old log on one side.

You don't hesitate, silently submerging yourself and swim underwater to the log, hoping for a small space under it by the bank.

Bugger! You think as you find the log firmly in-bedded in the bank with no hiding space between it and the bank.

Then you notice a hole in the log, looking in it you find the log is hollow! It looks like you can get in near the bottom of the pool.

You head down to the bottom of the pool and slide up the inside of the log, it is quite roomy at the bottom narrowing as you go up it.

Inside the log shafts of light illuminate the interior, your head breaks the surface of the water and you move up the log enough to look out one of the holes.

Though the hole you can see the cloaked figure halted at the edge of the pool listening intently, you freeze and keep watching, a minute goes by...

Then the figure puts the crossbow carefully down on the ground and pulls off the cloak and starts to undress.

You see the wood-wise figure about to swim in your pool is:
