“Where… am I?” The resurrected woman's voice is weak. She is still getting her bearings, eyes blinking through the Serpent's slime. Now would be the time for a proper burial, you decide.
You cast the spell and the ground beneath her softens into a pool of quicksand. The woman gasps as she sinks beneath the surface. "No, what's happening!?" She scrabbles at the earth with her slime-coated arms – a futile struggle. "Help me!" she cries as she is pulled down. Her final scream is muffled and then she is gone, forever.
You leave the Serpent for the crows, and make your way forward through the lengthening grass, wiping your sword as you go. The long grass gets taller and taller – the ground seems to slip away but the plants are just as tall. Soon you can no longer see the Wall above the nodding stems: a few paces later, you cannot see the way ahead at all.
Turning around, you see your path has closed up behind you, but there is no point turning back. Grass cannot hurt you. You push onwards. But which way?
