You ask the Pawn Guy if he/she has anything worth 12,000 gold coins. "Oh, sorry. I don't have anything worth--well, there's one thing..." He/She pulls out an ordinary lamp and sets it on the counter. "It's not 12,000 but if you give me 12,000 I can give it to ya." That sounds like a deal to me, and you feel the same!
You go outside with your newly acquired lamp and head to the beach. You sit on the sand and rub the lamp. He wait and the rub the lamp again. Nothing. You do this continuously for about an hour. Uh-oh! It looks like you've been Swindled.
