Duran shrugs. "A personal debt, I hear."

"Sorry, lass, I don't know." This makes you raise your eyebrows. Duran is usually a good source for information and honest advice. The fact that he doesn't know anything about this lord means that either this Ruairi rarely goes out or he's taken great lengths to smother information about him. Duran raises his hand to his face, where his index finger taps his chin thoughtfully. "Well, I've heard some pretty disturbing rumors that seem to indicate he may be a powerful fire mage, but that's just a rumor. Either way, it seems like yer to be his prize."

The 'prize' comment makes you snort, but you don't bother coming up with a comeback. You're occupied with thinking about this mysterious Ruairi. You're father owes him a personal debt. No one knows what he looks like. He's listed in the records of the tower of magi, so he's probably a mage. They don't have any further information about him tough, which is extremely weird since they're supposed to keep tabs on every mage in the country.
