"All right," you say. "We'll pick up tomorrow."
Thomas leads you into the bedroom. He strips down to his shorts. "This is my usual sleepwear," he says.
You climb into the bed, and Thomas joins you. He gently pulls your naked body against his and wraps an arm around you -- not in a sexual way, more like how a parent would cradle a child. Your head is resting against his chest.
"Sleep now, Meg," he says quietly. His large hand is gently running through your hair. You feel... comforted. Thomas half-closes his eyes.
