Warrior Angels: Chronicles Of The Defenders Of Heaven is a short story written by Mike Worth which explains the creation of the Warrior Angels, eight Guardians of the Gate designed to be able to fight anywhere at full power. This is a contrast from the original Guardians, who lose power the father they stray from the gates of Heaven.

Synopsis

Warning: Spoilers below.

The Story opens with God discussing the need for greater warriors to stave off the forces of Hell, as the residents of Hell now outnumber those of Heaven. He predicts that the war brought on by the leaders of Hell (Lucifer, Satan, and Lotus) would eventually move to Etrah as well as the gates of Heaven itself. He then charges four of the five Archangels: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel, with creating new and more powerful Guardians of the Gate. (The fifth archangel, Azrael, never created a Warrior Angel.) Gabriel created Hydrodurus (Angel of Water), Michael created Pyrodeus (Angel of Fire), Raphael created Gisichros (Angel of Earth), and Uriel created Ventusamplus, the Angel of Wind. This would even the balance of power from a strong advantage for Hell to a level playing field. However, God desired the balance to be tipped in Heaven's favor. He created four additional Warrior Angels of his own volition: Cryodivus (Angel of Ice), Fulminerus (Angel of Lightning), Silexops (Angel of Stone), and Aurumagnus (Angel of Gold).

Upon their creation, the eight Warrior Angels begin training by sparring with one another to learn how to use their powers, test their physical limitations, and augment their abilities with their powers or those of their fellow Warrior Angels. After an initial sparring session, Pyrodeus suggests that, with the help of the other Warrior Angels, he could build a Forge allowing him to create weapons for the Warrior Angels
