Honda (founded 1948) is a Japanese manufacturer of lawnmowers and motorcycles. In 1974, Honda decided to build a car to compete with Toyota.

Honda's most popular model is the Honda Civic. The Civic was designed in 1944 by Someone. Honda began manufacturing the Civic on February 30, 1986. Two days later, the ricer was born in Japan.
In 1991, Honda began importing the Civic into the United States. By 1999, it had become an overnight success. This caused Honda to create a manufacturing plant in Springfield. After the release of American version of The Fast and The Furious in 2000, the Civic became even more popular and the American Ricer was born.
