Justice League Unlimited

From Superdickery

Bruce Timm's exploits of the further adventures of the Justice League on television, as the League opens its doors to new members like The Question and Captain Atom. Considered slightly below the original Justice League show in quality, but still pound for pound, the best cartoon on television by its fans. Everyone but the person who wrote this article believes JLU to be far better than the Justice League series. But not quite as good as Batman: The Animated Series. However, in JLU's defense, few things are.

Notable for an episode in which JLU members were turned into monkeys.

Unfortunately, JLU's complete inability to achieve any real ratings amongst toonami's target audience lead to the cancellation of the show.

That and the fact that shows were shown months in advance in countries other than the United States.

Bat embargo

A frequent point of critique for many viewers was the complete absence of any and all Batman related characters except for Batman himself. The reason for such was a WB-enacted policy called the "Bat embargo" which flat out said that all Batman characters were off limits due to their appearance in The Batman, and the fact that since The Batman sucked, they didn't want the superior DCAU versions there to compete.
