Watch-Tower |
The watch-tower looms far above your island and warns you of foreign ships approaching your island. The more it is expanded, the better the visibility will be. |
Visibility and Canceling Fleets
The watch-tower reveals any transport or attack fleets traveling to your island within its visibility range. This range is determined by the formula Visibility = 1.2^level. You can cancel your outgoing transports and attacks until they reach one-tenth of your watch-tower's visibility.
Protection Against Espionage
The watch-tower provides some defence against Espionage, and will alert you of approaching ships. If the enemy's espionage fails you will be notified of the attempt and the origin of the spy.
Evidence from German and .co.uk players suggests that the watch-tower gives a 1% chance of detecting an espionage attempt per nautical mile of visibility range. A level 20 watch-tower will give you a 38% chance of detecting an espionage attempt, while no tower provides a 1% chance.
