Walk down the stairs to the gym hall

You take a deep breath and walk down the dimly lit stairway, you get to the bottom of this stairs and push open the door to the gym hall.
The large gym hall is completely empty and completely silent with nobody around. You stand at the door for a moment and look around but you can see anything that could have been making that noise.
Still feeling curious you call out “hello ..’’
And just then you hear the banging *thud *thud *thud followed by a voice yell ‘hey in here !,’
It’s coming from one of the storage cupboards at the backend of the gym hall.
Slightly startled you walk across the gym hall towards the cupboard door.
