You excuse yourself, go to the bathroom and clean out your ears with your finger and water. Then, you go back and tell the tiger to repeat her story. She does so happily.

"I am no ordinary tiger," the tiger says. "I am a wizard's familiar. My master is a cruel master, and found out that your cat had magical properties. He forced me to take her place as he stole her away. I did not want to confound and confuse you as he wished me to, but I am bound to remain in his control forever, unless the bond between me and him is broken."
