You already have a mate, and while orcs have been known to accumulate vast harems of females, you have a feeling that you'll have your hands full for a while. Leaving the elf maiden to slumber on, you slip back outside and run away into the trees, unseen by your unwitting benefactors.
You make it back to the ravine and discover that the dragon is awake. The beast hisses at you as you come down the goat trail, making low, angry noises in its throat. It watches you as you set your supplies on the ground, its head and tail held low and shoulders hunched in a defensive posture. The sun is beginning to sink toward the west, leaving you just a few hours of daylight left.
