You tentatively raise a hand to your forehead.
“I think I bumped my head,” you say, and you rub at your sopping wet hair.
“Ahh, well then, a good thing we were here, eh?”
You can’t help but continue to look at Wickney and his weapon belt.
“Quickly, Wickney,” the young woman says. “We cannot be out much longer, or we will have to worry about Vassals.”
“Yes, m’lady,” Wickney replied. “May I present young Jennifer Lynn Rehder of Boulder Province. Miss Rehder, may I present Princess Regina.”
“Princess . . .” you start to say.
“Form up ranks,” Wickney yells to his men, and you are quickly hustled inside the carriage, where the princess and her governess are waiting.
“Oh dear,” the governess says. “You’re soaked through to the bone.”
“Yes, poor thing,” the princess replies. “Well, we can wrap you up here, and wash you when we get to the palace, or we might have something that will fit you in the bench?”
