You decide to keep away from the massive pit of people and stand back by the soda bar. This way, you don't feel congested. And, you won't be bothered by somebody screaming in your ear as you try to listen to the music.
The lights go out...
An amp is pinched alive...
And the spotlight hits Jack McAdams, lead singer of Chord Connection.
Jack's fingers attack the first riff of the opening tune, "Save Me." Before the first bar ends, you are absentmindedly strumming an air guitar. You are matching Jack note for note. In your head, you can hear your own Gibson, which lies silent back in your bedroom.
The crowd sings along:
"Save me, save me
Rock and roll take me
Break me, make me
Rock and roll save me"
And the show does just that! When the curtain finally drops some ninety minutes later, you are sweating just as much as the band. You have enjoyed every note. You were able to pick at your air guitar perfectly, missing step with Jack only when he breaks into free-form solos.
The only down side to the show is that you notice that the band is short their rhythm guitarist, Steve Front...
Nonetheless, the show, in a word, ROCKED!
