Stay and have a Beer

From Create Your Own Story

The bartender slides the cold beer across the polished countertop, condensation dripping down the glass. You glance at the stranger who bought it—early 40s, salt-and-pepper scruff, a confident tilt to his head. "Thanks," you say, fingers curling around the chilled surface as you take your first sip.

"Adam," he offers, extending his hand. His grip is warm, slightly calloused. You tell him your name. ‘Jake’

"So,Jake " Adam grins, leaning against the bar, "how old are you, kid?"

"Nineteen," you admit, watching his eyebrows shoot up.

"Jesus Christ," he laughs, shaking his head. His beer bottle clinks against your bottle as he taps them together. "Got a thing for older men, or just bad at saying no to free drinks?"

You don't answer—just smirk into your bottle, the bitter beer sharp on your tongue. Adam watches you swallow, his gaze dropping to your throat before flicking back up.

"Tell you what," he murmurs, stepping closer. The heat of his body radiates as he leans in. "Let's finish these, then head to my place. Five-minute walk. Got a full liquor cabinet, decent music... and we can see where this day takes us." His fingers graze your elbow, lingering. "Unless you've got somewhere better to be?"
