"Let's seek shelter in the compound," you say. "We don't want to be wandering around forever, and inside there'll be soldiers to protect us. That was the problem with the castle - there just weren't enough people to protect all the weak spots."
"Agreed," says Annabelle. "All right, let's try it. Do we just go up and knock?"
"We don't want to appear too threatening. But we should be okay as long as we hold our hands up when they see us. We'll want to keep our weapons, even if they have new ones for us in there."
Annabelle takes another peek through the trees. "We seem to be at the back edge of it. Should we walk around to the front? I'm not sure what they'll do if they think we're trying to sneak up on them."
"That's a good point," you say. On the other hand, you can see that walking around to the front would require a traverse over a steep ridge, and you and Ana are already a little tired.
