Fortunately, as the little girl is right behind Alexis, she is close enough that the incoming car isn't too much of a threat as long as you move quickly.
You dash around the car and Alexis' view follows you, the woman looking a little confused. She has no time to ask you what you are doing however as you sprint across the street.
You scoop up the little girl in your arms and continue on to the other side of the road. You stop, and turn around to see that Alexis is still standing by the door to her car!
Her gaze must have followed you until she saw the incoming car and now she stands there, frozen in fear, like a deer caught in the headlights.
You move forward in an attempt to save her too but you don't even reach the curb before the car reaches Alexis. At the last second the driver does try to stop but he is just going way too fast and noticed someone on the road far too late for the brakes to make a lick of difference.
The drunk plows into, and through her door and Alexis' body is mashed between her car and the torn off door with the force of a speeding vehicle.
The drunk, after the collision, promptly releases the brake and slams on the gas again. He screeches off down the street not wishing to face the consequences of his actions like you now have to.
