SM:Broom Sneak Attack
From Create Your Own Story
You slip into the hallway as quickly, and quietly as you can with the broomstick held firmly with both of your hands. You reach him just as he finishes checking the other room. He starts to turn, and you put a swift stop to that by laying into the side of his head with the broomstick!
He slams against the wall from the force of the blow and drops the gun. You bring up the broomstick and strike him again on the head. The broomstick snaps in half with the force of the strike as he drops, not dead, but out cold. You toss the broken broomstick on the ground as you hear police sirens in the distance.
You turn around and see the girl standing in the doorway. She is pretty rattled, but looks relieved when she sees you standing and the other man on the ground.
"I'm... I'm... " she says, as if about to say her name when she suddenly freezes and the sound of the approaching sirens vanishes.
"Thank you... " you hear a voice say from the stairwell. You look up and see, floating about mid-way up the stairs, some sort of spirit.
It consists of a hooded white cloak with a black, featureless porcelain mask where its' head should be. It has no discernable form, or body, and within the white voids of the mask's eyes you can sense a powerful malevolent force and deep hatred... for you.
"You may not know it... But her life is not the only one you saved today. I thank you. Because of your selfless act I was able to break free of the sealed mask my twisted half trapped me in. Thanks to you this girl, and a boy, will be able to live past today," it says while floating down the stairs toward you. It stops when it reaches the bottom.
"What happens now? What about the rest of my time?" you ask, glancing toward the girl in the doorway.
"That is up to you. As you have fulfilled your end of the contract, I am oblidged to fulfill mine... but since I do not wish to force anything upon you, especially something you may not truly want, I will instead offer you the choice. Would you like me to restore you to life so what happened here can play out as it should, or, would you like me to allow you to pass on to the afterlife? Whatever time you have remaining you can still enjoy if you select the latter option, if you so choose."
You consider your options. Although you'd done all this initially just for a chance to live again, now that the option of passing on was once again on the table you'd need to think long and hard about just what it is you truly want. You have a tough decision to make.
The End: You have saved two lives, and a spirit, even if you don't know who or where the boy you saved is. All the remains is for you to select life, or the afterlife... but that is another story entirely.
