Common knowledge tells you that the only way to hurt a gryphon is by shooting or stabbing it in its mouth, since the rest of its body is made up of an impenetrable hide. You pull out your bow and get your arrows ready. The gryphon's screech is heard again, indicating that it was only a few hundred yards away. Your legs are shaking, but you try to keep your arms and head steady.
You can hear the thumping of its wings. The gryphon screeches once again as it comes into sight. It's body and head are a crimson red, while its wings and feathers are pitch black. You make eye contact with the large beast and it turns towards you. You shoot your arrow early and hit its underside, but you do cause it to veer off course. As the gryphon circles back, you notch another arrow. It screams at you and you fire your arrow. The ammo flies on a straight course to the gryphon, and you think you're going to be victorious. Unexpectedly, the arrow zooms right past the gryphon's head. You try to notch another arrow, but you're frozen in fear as the gryphon charges towards you. Pulling out your sword, you prepare to fight it up close, but the gryphon has no intention of landing. You don't get the chance to move your weapon as the razor-sharp beak goes into your gut. You scream in pain as the gryphon beings to carry you upward, beak still in stomach. You being to feel yourself blacking out when the gryphon drops you from high up. You died on impact with the ground, another fallen prey to the terror of the plains.
