Megan:PassTheScissors

From Create Your Own Story

Faking a small smile, you take the scissors and charts. Vanessa turns back to her portion of the work, and you start cutting out the charts. Inside your head, you can't help but scream at yourself.

"What the hell's wrong with you? Why the fuck can't you just kill her and get it over with?!"

You take a deep breath and continue cutting, trying to ignore your mental self-abuse.

"Just do it and get it over with, you stupid bitch."

Tearing up slightly at your own words, you glance back over at the baseball bat. You hurry to finish the charts, and accidentally catch your own index finger with the scissors. Yelping, you toss the scissors away and move your finger to your mouth. Vanessa glances over and laughs quietly to herself.

"Megan, I told you those things were sharp. Here, do you want me to go get you the medical kit?"

"No, I've got it. I'm fine. You keep working. I'll be right back."

Sliding your chair back and standing up, you walk out of Vanessa's room and into the hallway, taking the medical kit from the hall closet and bringing it into the bathroom with you.

"You still have a chance. Plenty of chances. What about her bat?"

You wash your finger off and wrap a bandage around the cut, closing the kit and placing it back into the closet. You step back into Vanessa's room and stop, glancing at the softball bat. Vanessa, having been waiting for you, sees you looking at it.

"You know what that is, right Megan? That's the bat that I hit my first home-run with when I played softball in middle school."

You laugh. She's told you the story a thousand times, at least. She's pretty damn proud of it, even if she never played another game afterwards.

"I'd tell you the story, but we've got a little bit more work to do. I'll tell you afterwards, okay?"

She grins, and turns back to the posterboard. You pick the bat up with your right hand, gripping it tightly. You've got the perfect window of opportunity. You've got the bat, and her back is turned. But... can you do it?

Not now...

Killing her with something she cherishes is a bit too much, even for you.

Actually, on second thought, doesn't that make the kill that much sweeter?

Make it quick.

Make it good.

Make it brutal.
