Whatever this is, this is your only chance to find out. You climb down from your top bunk and hurry towards the red glow. You pause in front of it at the wall.

Suddenly, a force seems to pull you through the wall. Your eyes involuntarily close. When you open them again, you find yourself floating in an endless space. Stars and galaxies whirl around you in the distance.

"Now listen, Katarina!" comes the same whisper again.

"Who are you?" you demand.

"That is too long of a story to explain. Just think of me as a Spirit of Time. Now, Katarina, I can take you back to your own time."

"What about the others..."

"They are of this time, and must remain here."

"Will going back to my own time stop the vampire apocalypse?"

"No. But you will go back with full knowledge of what is going to happen. You will have the power to change history."

"Then send me back, Spirit," you say.

There is a blinding flash of light and your eyes snap shut again. When you open them, you find yourself back in your home in North Carolina. Looking at your iPhone, you see that you are also back in 2025, three years before the vampires unleashed their doomsday cloud-maker and launched their war on humanity.

You finger the silver cross around your neck. You are just one woman, but in those three years you are determined to do everything you can to expose and slay as many vampires as possible, change history, and save humanity.
