Go Outside (TBNP) 1

From Create Your Own Story

You abscond to the door, and on the short journey find a dismembered mushroom on the floor. You consciously pick it up. That wasn't a dream, but the mushroom was essentially in your hand. It will continue as it is for quite some time.

You're not prepared to reconcile this prosaic gambol for some fresh air with any more idiosyncratic dilemmas and with extreme industrial heat clamber out of the room. It is warm in the hallway which owes respect to the radiator, and it is harder to cool the hallway now than it is to heat it up. The colours of the walls are barely different. You continue down the stairs that strain sharp rights before inconclusively ending, so that the last step felt erroneous and that you were falling into an abyss. Most paraphernalia in the lounge is purple, and with many contours. You look at near things first, then distant things, before checking colourless and dark things. The window isn't translucent; it is purple.

"What a disgusting snare", you speak to your self. You reflexively grab your collar and give up your respect for colour. You're curious to know what outside looks like.

Outside: the bridge connecting your house and the neighbour's house is almost black. The sky is not that confusing cool colour from earlier; it's stygian black, the stark black of piano key sharps.
