Fugitive Something/Lay low

You lay low in the cart, which is good, because you eventually catch a glimpse of the shadowy figures pushing the cart, and one of them is staring straight down at you to make sure you don't make any sudden moves. Fortunately, at this point, there is another loud BUMP, which startles the watcher and causes him or her to look away. You almost smile at this, knowing that the figure is human, or at least humanlike.

What do you do?
