Fine, don't try the bottled happiness

From Create Your Own Story

You chuckle at Nathan's hesitation and decide to relent, realizing that he might have his reasons for not wanting to share the happiness potion. With a teasing smile, you say, "Alright, alright, I won't force you to share your magical concoction. I wouldn't want to mess up your perfect potion, after all."

Nathan looks relieved but still a bit uneasy. "I appreciate that. It's just, well, it's not quite perfected yet, and I don't want any unexpected side effects."

You nod understandingly, giving him an empathetic look. "No worries, Nathan. I get it. I won't pressure you into sharing something that's still a work in progress. Besides, it's for a class project, right? I promise I won't do anything that makes you uncomfortable."

Nathan's anxious expression softens, and he manages a small, grateful smile. "Thanks. I just want to make sure everything goes smoothly, especially since I have high expectations for this project. It's essential for my grades, you know?"

You reach out and playfully ruffle his hair, eliciting a surprised but amused reaction from him. He swats gently at your hands, roughing down the strands of hair to organize the mess you'd made "I know you've got this, Nathan. Your potions are always top-notch. And hey, if you ever need a taste tester once it's perfected, I'm your guinea pig."

Nathan blushes a bit at the compliment, appreciating the encouragement. "I might take you up on that offer, but only when I'm absolutely certain it's flawless. Until then, let's just keep it between us, okay?"

You nod, giving him a reassuring smile. "Absolutely. Your secret potion is safe with me. Now, let's get going. I don't want to be late for class, and I'm sure Johnson won't be too thrilled if we both miss it."

As you head towards the door, you glance back at Nathan, who's now wearing a more composed expression. "And hey, once you've aced this project, we can celebrate with the perfected potion together. Deal?"

Nathan smiles, the anxiety fading away momentarily. "Deal. Thanks for understanding, and good luck in class."

You give him a quick peck on the cheek, making him blush again, and head out together. The promise of a celebration with Nathan and the prospect of a perfected happiness potion keep your spirits high as you make your way to class, leaving behind the messy yet endearing scene in the kitchen.

As you get outside, the cool weather brushes against your skin.
