Unfortunately, there is not much you can hear from where you sit. No voice rises higher than a whisper. You do catch a few scattered words like election, princess and Drakenhof, but little else. When you attempt to get closer to some customers, they throw a brief glance at you and speak even lower. All this secrecy is very frustrating. Perhaps you would be luckier if you tried to join a trio playing cards or to chat with the lonely individual sipping rum in a dark corner.
